Bruneau Sand Dune State Park and Bruneau Canyon

Labor Day Weekend we went camping with our friends from church, the Bowerman family. We headed out of town about an hour and a half east of Boise, ID to Bruneau Sand Dune State Park. I really enjoy it there. It is so different from the rest of Idaho. The tallest sand dunes in North America. They are amazing! And about 18 miles from the little city of Bruneau, Idaho is Bruneau Canyon where the Bruneau River goes through the Bruneau Canyon of course.

Caleb and Emma really enjoyed camping! They had so much fun playing the sand and playing with Annie and Lexie Bowerman. I wanted to share some of our pictures with you. I hope you like them.

The Western Idaho Fair

The Western Idaho Fair was back in August, but I am just now getting to posting the pictures! Ha Ha!

Caleb and Emma had a great time at the fair with mommy and daddy and our friends, the Bowermans. We walked around, saw a magic show, ate a funnel cake and of course, saw the animals in the petting barn.

I hope you enjoy these pictures!

Catch Up Time

I can't even believe how long it has been since I have written on our blog last! Life is back to "normal" schedule and not summer schedule...what a bummer. But routine it good.

I don't even know where to start. So I guess I will start with Caleb and Emma's 18 month check up. It was great they are healthy kids that is for sure. They had their next set of shots and of course the weight and height check. Caleb weighed in at 30 pounds and Emma just 5 pounds lighter at 25. They were both 36.5 inches tall. That put Emma in the 98.9 %tile and Caleb in the 96 %tile. They are super tall and always tower over the other kids. They will be 20 months at the end of September. When I stop and think about that I realize they are almost 2 year old and wonder where the time has gone. My babies are not babies anymore...even if they are my babies.

Caleb and Emma are getting to be the best of friends and yet have their moments of pure disgust with each other. They love to hug, kiss and hold hands! They play chase and will sit on each other and of course a sister and brother relationship wouldn't be complete without the teasing! Ha Ha! And oh my, they are so good at it! Ha Ha!

They both love to read, sing and dance. They are talking up a storm. Emma loves to repeat words and Caleb just talks on his own non stop almost....I think that this is the start of the end of the quiet! Ha Ha! I love to watch them open a book and be totally amazed at what they see. I love to watch their eyes light up when they hear their favorite song come on. And love to hear all the new words that they are learning. My least favorite word right now is..."MINE"! Emma picked that up and now Caleb is saying it too. SIGH...so it begins. But I have to say even with that, they do pretty good with sharing and giving stuff to each other.

Fun story from tonight. I have playing with the kiddos and Emma took something and ran away from me. I started after her and said, "Mommy's going to get you, you little monkey butt!" She turned around and said, "Monkey butt!" Rick and I both start to laugh! Ha Ha! It is quite harmless, yes, but I realized how much they really to copy us. Ha Ha!

As for Rick and I, we are both back in the swing of work. I love my job and so far we are off to a great start of the school year. I am remembering how tired I am during the school year because of the 2 jobs...ha ha..I got spoiled during the summer only working at Dressbarn yet still getting my check from the school district. Oh well, we are all adjusting back to that! Football season has officially started and Rick is working the home games at BSU with our church again. I miss doing that, but I love staying home with the kids more!

Church is the same old, same old. Sunday school has started up again, so Rick and I are teaching that again this year. I am still singing on the worship team and helping with the missions council. Rick is still on the church board and still enjoying that. So as you can tell we are busy busy busy!

I hope you all are doing well! I love you all and would love to hear from anyone! Send me an email or call.
