Holy Big Beds Batman!

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed....well, I hope not!

This years for Christmas and Caleb and Emma's 3rd birthday, we decided to that is was time that they get into a regular bed instead of their cribs. So that was our Christmas/birthday present to them!

Caleb and Emma have never tried to climb out of their cribs. I was always told that when they start to do that then it is time for beds. Well, seeing as how that never happened and the seems perfectly content in their cribs we have just left them. Turning 3 made me decided that it was time to get BIG BEDS!!

When we found out we were having twins a little over three years ago, we knew that everything would have to be done at the same time, which also meant that double the cost! So we bought cribs that would convert into big beds later. I am so glad that we did that!

Back in December we started to look at mattress sets and bedding for their rooms. Sears had some good deals, so we bought them. Caleb and Emma got to pick out their bedding. That was a lot of fun for them. It made them more excited about the transition to the bigger beds.

We set up the beds after Christmas vacation. The back and front of the cribs are now the head and foot boards of their big beds. I just love Caleb's foot board, because it has little teeth marks on it from where he stood and chewed on it. I remember that when he had done that I was upset because he had "ruined" it. But now I look at it and it brings back memories of when he was just a little guy standing in his crib after he would wake up.

Emma's room did not need new decorations, she got to keep all her butterfly things! Caleb needed all new stuff. I was telling my friend, Deb, at work that Emma's room was done, but Caleb's room need new curtains and wall decorations. It was going to have to wait until I was able to afford to buy a few things. She asked what we did their rooms in. So I told her as a part of the conversation. The next day she stopped over to see the rooms while I was at work at Dressbarn. The next day she asked if I was going to be home that night. So when showed up that night with sports themed wall decorations. Deb said they had planned to us them in her sons room a few years ago, but they never got around to it and it was sitting in the closet. Grady, her son, said that he did not want to use them now, so she was giving them to us! I offered to pay for them, but she would not let me! What a blessing! Now all I need to get is the curtains! The sports themed decorations match perfect!!! Caleb was so excited!

We were worried about Caleb and Emma falling out of their new beds, but they have done so well! Rick and I put a pillow on either side of them and one in the middle for them to sleep on. Then we tuck the cover under that mattress to keep them snug. It works perfectly!

Caleb and Emma love love love their new beds! The never want to get up and enjoy showing everyone their new rooms!
