The one thing I love doing as a mom is watching my children play. They are amazing to me! The thoughts and ideas that come out in their play leave me in awe! That may sound a little dramatic, but have you stopped and watched a child with a huge imagination play lately? If not, you should!
Today, Caleb and Emma were playing in the same room as me, as I was working on the computer. I was listening to them playing, but I had to stop what I was doing and watch. I had to make sure I was hearing them right.
Here is the details of their imaginations at work:
The love seat in the computer room was the "sailboat". Emma was "Dora the Explorer" and Caleb was "Diego the Animal Rescuer". Both of these characters from Nick Jr., if you did not know them. They were pulling each other in the the "sailboat"...saving each other. They also had stuffed animals and baby dolls on the "sailboat". All of a sudden, Emma says,
"I am going to have my peanut butter sandwich from my back pack."
"Do I have a peanut butter sandwich in my back pack too?" Caleb said to Emma.
"I don't know...let me check!" Then she pretends to unzip a back pack on his back to check. "Yep...here go!" She handed him the pretend sandwich and they both sit down and "eat".
At this point I was laughing...too myself, because I didn't want them to stop. It was the best! They have amazing imaginations! I hope they never stop imagining!
Then the night before, they were pretending that they were getting check ups. Emma had Caleb lay down on my oak trunk and was giving him a check up.
"I going to check your heart, okay!?" she said to Caleb and she put her hand over his belly button!
They take in so much all the time! They are little sponges soaking up everything around them!
