Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lent season. And growing up in the Catholic church as I did, it is still a big part of my year. I love it! It is one Catholic tradition that I will pass on to my kids!
Of course, during Lent we do not eat meat on Fridays and also on Ash Wednesday. So tonight I made pancake and eggs for supper. YUM! Caleb and Emma love pancakes, but Caleb especially love them. If we let him he would eat them every day for every meal!
I put some eggs on his plate and he yelled, "I want a PANCAKE!"
I said, "I know buddy, mommy is getting it ready for you."
He sighed and said, "Okay!"
I continued to butter it, put syrup on it and was just starting to cut it, when I glanced at him and noticed that his hand was resting under his chin and he was starring at the pancake. Then he said somewhat quietly, "Oh crap, come onnnnn!"
I looked at him a little shocked and I said, " What did you say?"
He giggled and hid his face. Then I started to laugh and Rick started to laugh. We had to remind him not to say "crap" and talked about waiting patiently. Funny thing is, is that he used the right tone and expression! What a little smarty pants!
